In general, bodywork relaxes muscle tissue, which reduces painful contractions and spasms. It can also reduce nerve compression. It reduces pain through soft tissue manipulation and flushes toxins by increasing blood flow, promoting healing.

While bodywork does not directly increase energy, it does reduce fatigue and often decreases the symptoms that sap our energy, resulting in our feeling better.

It has been shown to increase circulation, reduce stress, pain, and depression, improve sleep, and our immunity – all of which make us feel better, more energized, and less fatigued.

She has twenty years of experience working in a variety of venues from spas to chiropractic offices. She is adept with many forms of massage ranging from Reiki, Trigger Point Therapy, and Deep Tissue.

Carrie loves connecting with her clients through this powerful healing modality.

Every massage that Carrie gives will incorporate the use of energy medicine. When performing hands-on healing she naturally picks up on the energetic blue print of her client and is able to “read” the story of the body. She is able to pick up on the complexities of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies of the client.

Immune sytem

Research has shown that receiving regular massage therapy helps boost our immune system and flush toxins, increasing blood flow throughout the body. Massage increases the activity of white blood cells that help our body fight diseases and may help with reduction of cortisol.
 

Mental Health

The Mayo Clinic reports a 60-minute massage can lower cortisol, the stress hormone, by up to 30 percent after just one session. A study published in the journal Depression and Anxiety found participants who received regular massage therapy for 12 weeks had a 50 percent reduction in anxiety symptoms.

Stress reduction

Massage therapy has shown to significantly reduce stress on both physical and psychological levels. While massage therapists know from experience that massage reduces stress, there is considerable research that validates our experience.

Increased healing time

A  massage increases healing by encouraging an increase in blood flow around the body, providing essential oxygen and nutrients required for the repair of damaged tissues. It also helps to break down scar tissue that has built up as a result of trauma or injury.
